It is true– I have been a bit absent in the last few months! However, this is because I am actually going to have a bright shiny NEW BLOG very soon!!!! This blog has been my journal for years of so many beautiful photos and sessions with people that I am happy to call friends! This blog will remain present, however, I will no longer be posting NEW material here— you will be able to find all of that on my new blog!
So, where is this new blog? Good question!! I will be very soon posting the new link! It will be integrated with my new website, and it will be amazing.
So, because I am wanting to post lot soft stuff to this new blog– I have been saving all my recent work to post there! Soon enough my friends…you will have a plethora of vibrant and genuine photos to view– as well as a NEW BRAND and WEBSITE!!!
Thanks for all your support as usual! See ya on the new site!!
(Just for fun….here is a little peek from a recent wedding I loved! Sunsets, small towns, and backyards….some of my favorite things!)
Well…turns out I still have some awesome weddings to blog from 2014– holy cow! Including this one…which was amazeballs. Yep, I said that.
I love these two.
When I book a wedding, I am booking new friends. I am booking an investment into someone else’s life. I truly feel it’s important to understand a couple’s story, and truly CARE about them…and their wedding day! I really enjoyed Ali & Kyle’s wedding– not because it was at a beautiful Ski resort on top of a Mountain on a PERFECT Colorado sunny day…but because I formed a real connection with them over the last year. It meant something– and I cried a little at their ceremony. THAT is why I do what I do.
What does all that mean for this blog post? Well..nothing really…except to let them know how honored I was to be there– and how much I enjoyed getting to know them– and how I with them the very very best!!!! 😉
Ceremony and Reception held at The Sunspot Lodge, on top of the Winter Park mountain! You will see that in addition to a gorgeous blue-sky day, we got a KILLER sunset as well– really….could you ask for more!? Then there is Ali– holy cow woman…you looked STUNNING!!! Kyle– you looked pretty dapper yourself 😉 All the vendors that made this day so gorgeous really did an amazing job- florals, table centerpieces, etc….and Emily at the Sunspot Lodge is so wonderful!
We got out once the stars came out (and it got pretty darn cold by then actually! Ali braved it!)- and played a bit with some Star and light painting shots! It was a bit of a challenge to get a spot with the lights showing from the Ski lift (that is light that is lighting up the trees in the star shot)…but they came out cool and was fun!
So- Congrats you two! Thanks for having us a part of your adventure!
Shout out to my Partner in crime– Kristy Wedel! Many of these images are hers as well! Couldn’t have done it without you chica!
Oh these two. So, I have bit of a bias…because Brandon is actually my step brother! Now, you will very often hear that as photographer, you should never photograph your family or friends….it’s just too much. However, I disagree. I have had the pleasure of photographing some of my best friends weddings, and now my Step brother! Here’s the thing, I truly love what I do…so if I get to pair that with hanging out with family and friends, I’ll do it! win-win! So, needless to say, I was honored when Sarah and Brandon asked me to be their photographer– knowing that they could have chosen someone else!
So, it happened to be a polar vortex sort of a day (and day before)– so despite some of the Colorado blue sky photos– it was fricken freezing!!! Hats off to Sarah for braving the cold for a few shots outdoors in her dress! Despite the weather though, it was a gorgeous evening! The team that put together the wedding really did an amazing job! The lighting and decor and florals all looked amazing! Sarah and her girls had such a clean and classic elegant look going on, as did the guys! It fit in just right with all the String Cheese Incident concert-goers that happened to be taking over the hotel that weekend! lol! It was pretty entertaining to say the least!
The ceremony and Reception both took place at the Omni hotel, which is always nice to be able to shack up after a night of partying! Being that it was New Years Eve, we were allowed to party until 2am– and the DJ was awesome and kept the party going! I eventually put my camera back in my room, and got to party a while myself with my hubby and family- it was great (night off from the kiddos of course!)!
All in all, it was a beautiful day, and I couldn’t be happier for my bro and Sarah!! Thank you guys for including me on this day- I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you guys!!
