I was lucky enough to have two absolutely gorgeous Fall days in Vail this past fall- one week apart! Now, in the Colorado Mountains in the Fall, that is pretty rare. I fully expected one of these two weddings to be like summer, and then next– a winter storm. So, I was pleasantly surprised when both turned out to be just stunning, warm, fall days! Woohoo for mother nature!!
As for Jen and Gregg– the day was totally sweet! I was excited to get there because I hadn’t done engagement photos of these two, so I hadn’t even met Gregg yet! It was so cute to see how they interacted together– already seemed like a couple that had a connection that could be years old. You will see a lot of images of laughter…I love how goofy and fun Jen was!! Guess there’s a reason we hit it off….;)
After getting ready in Vail Village, we headed to Donovan Pavilion for the ceremony and party! Jen looked absolutely stunning in her pale pink gown (hard to tell in photos)- and all the decor and florals were just perfect for the Colorado mountains! We played around a bit with photos before the sun went down, making for some beautifully lit couples portraits. Then, the night progressed with some heartfelt toasts by mom, and Dad(s), and two of my favorite father/daughter dance photos (I am not sure why I love it when people cry…but I do). This group knew how to party- and the dancing was lively all night! We ended the evening with a sparkler exit– always fun!
Congrats to you two! Thank you for having us along on your journey!!
Thank you to my second shooter, Erin Cady, for being awesome like always!!
Really? That is all I have to say about how pretty Amber looked on her Wedding Day. First off, this Wedding was extra special to me because not only was I honored to be asked to document such an intimate and Special Wedding Day, but it is my beautiful cousin!!! Growing up, even though we lived in different states, we were like sisters! (I’m pretty excited and ashamed to admit that I am in the same gene pool as this lady…;) Although, she is in a class of her own….)
Amber and Nick have a SUPER adorable and unique story!! I love that. So, Amber and Nick met in 3rd grade 😉 (Hence, why she walked down the aisle to George Strait’s “Check yes or No”….too damn cute.) They were friends, and went their separate ways in life…but as fate would have it, they were reconnected in recent years….and the rest is history folks! They are the cutest couple together…and I am pretty obsessed with how cute Nick is with all his tattoos….but then is literally the nicest person you’ve ever met in your life!
They had originally planned their Wedding on a Lake/boat outside of Phoenix (where they live)– but things just weren’t falling into place– so they said “forget it! Let’s get married by the Ocean!” Amber really loved the Nautical theme idea– as did I!– so it went perfectly with the location! It was a very intimate and small Wedding– with mainly immediate family, and a few old friends— it was just perfect size!
One thing that I really thought was sweet…and made me cry a bit….was the little “Stacey” charm that Amber had given to Nick and the best man, and Nicks Parents– as nicks’ sister had passed away not too long before, and it was a great way to know that she was there in spirit! Her beautiful little kiddos got to be ring bearer and flower girl (one of them) as well– and did a great job!! 😉 Such cutie-patooties.
So much history and back story and little details with these two— such a great story— I love that. Period.
So, here we go! Probably too many photos as usual….but who cares, right?

I feel like this could become a VERY long post…and I’m a bit overwhelmed…..I feel like I have gotten to know these two peeps so well in the last year! Anthony called me a little over a year ago— and asked me about photographing his Proposal to his girlfriend….Shauna. I was stoked– and thought it was such a fun and cool idea!! I was honored to have been there to capture their moment– and then hangout with them the rest of that evening….and meet their family later on at Merle’s restaurant! They both have such amazing families that are very welcoming– and above all– you can just see how much they adore each other!! Here is a link to their Proposal photos as well…..
Obviously, I was totally excited to shoot their Wedding as well this November (the 2nd)! Over the year of planning, I met with them a few times, and talked a lot through email, and helped Anthony with a super sweet and touching gift for Shauna on the Wedding day— so I really felt like I formed a bond with these two! So….given that, I will keep this short– or I may ramble all day!
I am so happy for these two– and truly feel so honored to have been part of some of their big moments in life….and wish absolutely nothing but the best to them!! Wonderful people! Looking forward to photographing them again for their “next” big moments….whenever those may come 😉
Typically, I have been doing Wedding blog posts as “collages” to tell a story– mostly because there are simply a ton of photos. However….I have decided that I want to just post some of my favorites here from the day….maybe no rhyme or reason to anyone else…just the pics that I love from the day for whatever reason. This is my “journal” of sorts…and I was starting to feel like it was written for other reasons lately…..so I gotta be true to myself and continue to just post what truly inspires me and makes me happy!
So, here are Shauna and Anthony…and their beautiful Day in Denver! Thank you again Shauna and Anthony– best wishes to you both!!
